square oslo atmosphere archive
Oslo seen through atmosphere.
A proof-of-presence raster: streets, rooms, surfaces, signs, weather, light, palettes, empty stages, and private city myths.
archive
Each square is a pixel. The archive is the raster.
thesis
Not trained on Oslo. Trained on having been there.
Oslocore began as Oslocations: a practical memory layer for Oslo film locations. It became something stranger and more personal: a square-format archive of Oslo as atmosphere.
The images are not illustrations for the project. They are the body. Each tile is small on its own, but the repetition creates a city-memory system: public surfaces, private rooms, weather, signs, routes, empty stages, and the mythological present of Oslo.
I chose the square before I knew why. Years later, the reason appeared: each photograph was a pixel, and the archive was trying to become a raster.
book prototype
A physical constellation from the larger city body.
